REACH 10th anniversary press release

The REACH 10th anniversary - "Yes, You Can!" (2008-2018)

In Ha Noi, on 22nd September 2018, the Center for providing vocational training, career advice, and job placement services for Vietnam's most disadvantaged youths (REACH center) will formally hold their 10th Anniversary event with the slogan " Yes, You can! " This is the last event in the series of decisive programs in 2018 on the path of the 10 year journey of REACH's development.

REACH was officially established in 2008, growing out from the LABS project (supported by the Plan International in 2004). Over the past 10 years, REACH has proven that independence in the socio-economic context of Viet Nam is a necessity, through effectively implementing their mission and highlighting their core values, towards the realization of the vision of the organization: "All Vietnamese youths have the opportunity and necessary support to achieve their full potential."

In 2008, starting with a small center in Ha Noi with 5 staff members, after 10 years, REACH has locations in 6 provinces and cities in the country with 5 centers: Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An and one project region at Ho Chi Minh City, and now with more than 70 staff members and facilitators. With only 3 training courses at the beginning, REACH has now expanded the training program up to 10 different courses from 3 to 6 months matching the needs of the market. In addition, REACH also provides career guidance and job introductions to students through a network of more than 1,000 recruiting partners, both local and international. There are four REACH social enterprise models (EM hair salon, Japanese office lunch - KOI Bento in Hanoi, Revina graphic design company, and TRE Restaurant in Hue) which contribute effectively to the training and recruiting of students and creating funds to support the students who are studying at REACH.

The 10 year journey of REACH's history has had many ups and downs, but the enduring efforts of REACH's staff, facilitators, partners and donors have brought about positive changes for society, specifically the lives of many disadvantaged young people in the country. By 2018, 15,978 students have graduated from REACH with more than 80% having stable employment within 6 months after graduation.

The pride of REACH in the first ten years is not only in the numbers but also in the diversity of REACH students and the variety of career opportunities available to them - this is the difference between REACH and all other youth support organizations in Vietnam.

The 10th-anniversary event will look back REACH's ten-year journey to help disadvantaged youths get ready for new milestones and new achievements.

"For a brighter future for Vietnamese young people" said Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam, Executive Director of REACH.
