Team Ignite sparks leadership aspirations at REACH!

Vietnam’s premier leadership development and executive coaching company, Team Ignite, has delivered a high quality leadership course to REACH staff to further develop their leadership capabilities.

“It was a great experience,” said fundraising officer, Anh Nguyen. “I learned a lot about how to be a better leader and the value of working as part of a team.”

The leadership training provided by Team Ignite, was run by ex-marines Derek Kenmotsu and Alex Evans.

With a vast depth of experience in leadership and teamwork thanks to long careers with the US army, the men were able to provide staff with some fantastic insights into how best to REACH their goals.

Nguyen said her goal was to become better at speaking English.

“I want to be fluent,” she said. “And to make that happen I need to read more and try to speak English as often as possible.”

As part of the seminar, staff were asked to find themselves a designated ‘accountability partner’ to check in with over time to ensure their goal plans were met.

Kenmotsu stressed the importance of using these partners moving forward encouraging and challenging people to check in with their partners to make sure they are moving towards their goals.

The training was provided as part of REACH’s ongoing commitment to the professional development of its staff.

“Professional development is paramount to REACH’s success,” said REACH’s Executive Director, Tam Thanh. “We recognise that with well trained, equipped, and, most importantly, inspired staff, there is no end to what we can achieve.”

In recent weeks staff have undergone a number of training seminars including time management, LGBT sensitivity training, and understanding and supporting people who have experienced trauma.
