REACH staff receive training on social enterprise

As a part of REACH’s strategy to become financially stable, the organization is going to implement a social enterprise model. In order to get REACH staff ready for this major change, a training on social enterprise was organized.

The training was led by Ms. Pham Kieu Oanh – Director of Center for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP) – a local non-profit organization aiming at providing direct nuture and support to social enterprises in Vietnam.

At the training, REACH staff was introduced to a different model of social enterprises, the myths as well as challenges for a NGO making a shift to business sector. There will be many difficulties waiting ahead, which require REACH staff to make double efforts so that REACH can successfully achieve it roles as a social organization and a social enterprise.

Mr Hoang Truong Phuoc Ky, REACH Business Development Manager, also shared the direction and upcoming plan of REACH social enterprise. According to that, the most current milestone will be in July, when the new model will be officially launched.

Although worries still remained, all REACH staff now feels ready to make changes and face with the new challenge.

“The training is informative. I have learnt many new things. Now I feel less anxious about the upcoming challenges. Although there will many difficulties waiting ahead, I am ready to deal with them.”, said Hang – Youth Career Initiative Coordinator.
