Over 325 students will graduate this month from 13 REACH vocational training classes in Hue, Da Nang, and Hanoi. This brings the total number of disadvantaged young people trained by REACH since 2004 to 6,967.
What is even more exciting is that over 80% of these new REACH graduates will be in employment within 6 months of graduating.
As part of the REACH program, our staff continues to provide support to our students for a six month period after graduation. During this time we help them to stay motivated and find employment, and to make a success of their job. An example of successful employment outcomes for REACH graduates can be seen in the results in March 2012 for the November 2011 graduating classes from REACH Hanoi:
Local business support
As an incentive to support our students, local Vietnamese company DMZ Group – with business interests in travel, restaurants, and hotels, – awarded 200,000VND to the 10 best students from REACH Hue classes. What a great way to motivate these disadvantaged young people and help them to get a good start in the workforce. Thank you DMZ Group.
REACH is currently recruiting students for our next batch of vocational training programs that will be conducted in 9 locations across Northern and Central Vietnam.
