On 28 November 2012 The People’s Committee of Hue presented a Certificate of Merit to the REACH Centre in Hue for gaining 92% employment outcomes for its vocational training programs in 2012.
Vocational employment outcomes in 2012
Following a joint review by the Hue Vocational School and REACH Centre in Hue of vocational training outcomes for 2012 it was noted that:
- 314 disadvantaged young people had been recruited for REACH vocational training courses in 2012
- 307 had graduated (97.7%)
- 282 (92%) were placed into employment and currently have a stable job.
“For the first time in their lives they are able to support themselves and also contribute to supporting their families”
“This is a fantastic result, and we are so proud of our REACH team at Hue” said Ms Phạm Thị Thanh Tâm, REACH Executive Director, who attended the award giving ceremony at Hue.
“We are particularly pleased for these young graduates, because after REACH vocational training and employment placement they are earning an the average income of is 2.24 million VND per month. This is well in excess of the Vietnamese Minimum wage of 1 million VND per month. For the first time in their lives they are able to support themselves and also contribute to supporting their families”. said Ms Tâm.
Because of these excellent resutls REACH was presented with the Certificate of Merit because of this “significant contribution to social security.”
At the Hue REACH Graduation ceremony, where the Peoples’ Committee award was presented, REACH and Hue Vocational School (where the REACH Centre is located) reaffirmed their successful partnership for 2013.
